Black Bear Hunting

Black bear hunting can be a challenge unless you know what you are doing. The following are a few tips to help you bag that trophy bear on your next hunting trip.

Bears are afraid of people and they are usually familiar with scents that are human scents. Doing what you can to mask or eliminate human odors will ensure that you do not scare the bears off.

With winter coming around the corner, bears are on the search for food. In the fall, fruit orchards and berry patches are two of the best places to start your search. They may also be found open meadows harboring rotted logs that are full of insects or feasting on carrion.

Bears can usually be found in some of the thickest, nastiest brush. It is also common to find them in swamps. Going with a group to hunt bears is a common way to ensure that you will find a bear. Some of the group can walk through the woods to drive the bear out.
