Mule Deer Hunting
Mule deer can be prevalently found in the Colorado region, more specifically though, in the Rocky Mountains. They have far from average behaviors compared to other deer in its family, and it can be hard to predict their movements.
Over the last few years their numbers have declined from a massive hit of hunters and poaching. Though erratic in behavior, they are a vulnerable species prone to an easy hunt. Forest preserves in Colorado have implemented strict management systems and polices regarding the Mule Deer for Hunting. This was done in an effort to increase their numbers.
The fact that they are extremely vulnerable to hunters stems from their defense mechanisms. Whitetail deer run and bound great distances when provoked or sense danger. Mule Deer, when they sense danger only run a short distance before looking around, leaving not much ground between them and any perceived threat.
Regardless of their "easy hunting" nature, they are still quite a game to catch, and can be a lot of fun to track and hunt.
